CONTACT ME form is now working.

We recently learned that the emails sent to me through the website using the CONTACT ME feature were not being delivered. Evidently, my Yahoo Mail had changed some requirements and did not recognize the LITURGICALGUITARIST website emails. My web guru figured out the problem and has fixed it, so now you can contact me via an email through the website. And I know this is working because I received 4 spam emails today from Russian emails. The lesson for me in all this is that I can no longer ignore my own website, but must keep a closer eye on it.

So if you have had problems in the past and tried to reach me, now you know why I never answered you back. I am an old guy who communicates primarily through email and our telephone land line. We do have a cell phone for traveling and emergencies, and I actually made my first text last year. But I can only use the speaker system for texting as my fingers can’t seem to find the right letters on the tiny screen, so texting is not my favorite. Anyway I digress. The point is that the system is fixed and you can now reach me with questions, suggestions or comments.

Hello Jim. I just finished crafting a lengthy message to you that I think did not get delivered. So, I will try again - but with fewer words this time. I just discovered you a few days ago and want you to know that I am impressed with your guitar arrangements for hymns and parts of the Mass. I have been playing finger-style guitar for at least 30 years and, although I did attend a music college for 2 years, I do not have a lot of experience arranging music for guitar. Because I am now semi-retired, I am looking forward to having more time to learn and play liturgical music for the parishioners at the church I attend (St. Agnes Catholic Church). Just so you know, I have been trying to arrange "Eye Has Not Seen" by Marty Haugen for 2 weeks and would like to know what you think of it. Better yet, I'm hoping you will consider arranging "Eye Has Not Seen" and posting a video of yourself playing it. To encourage you, I would be happy to offer financial compensation and could send you a copy of the lead-sheet I have (key of D) and my arrangement (key of D). Anyway, if possible, let me know soon what your thoughts are on all of this. Thank you and God Bless. Sincerely, Richard

Hi Richard, I still have much to learn about managing my website. Last night, I saw your comment. Then I realized I must approve comment, Then I discovered I had over 200 unapproved comments from spammers, which I deleted this morning. I wanted to contact you, but it says your email is unverified (I don’t even know what that means) and I can’t see it. So hopefully you will see this comment and contact me through the contact form and give me your email.

Anyway, first thing this morning I grabbed the sheet music and gave Eye Has Not Seen a try. I felt D major was too hard, so I tried lowering it to C major and found that playable. It will have a few challenges for less skilled players, but I will put it on my ‘to do’ list for future arrangements. I thank you for your suggestion. Also, I would be happy to look at your arrangement in D, but I am quite sure that I will do it on day in C major, God willing.

Peace,Jim
