New arrangement: Hosea
I’ve played Hosea, by Gregory Norbert, for many years, but never wrote out an arrangement. It is a wonderful hymn and us useful at times throughout the year, not just for Lent. I recently contacted the copyright owner, The Benedictine Foundation of Vermont, and they gave me a nice contract to arrange and sell their music. Hosea lays so nice on the guitar in the key of D major and is not very difficult to play. I give you 2 verses with a simple intro and ending in harmonics (they are optional). The 1st verse is pretty straightforward. I add some nice hammer-ons and pull-offs and some riffs to verse 2 for interest and to challenge you to add new licks to your guitar bag of tricks. If you don’t like them, don’t play them or add your own.
